hi everyone,

i’m just posting to say i love this drawing. this could be artwork for the “the city”–a song I wrote a long time ago but never released. “the city” was supposed to be the basis for an entire album on which many of the songs i have released subsequently have been based. since i am in archive mode, i will probably did up “city” and post it here fairly shortly for your listening pleasure.

It’s Snowing

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Snow is coming down on the street. It’s a wonderful sight. Hard to believe it’s January 22nd and this is our first snow of the year. It’s just so calm outside. The snow is clean and powdery and it’s winter break so there aren’t too many kids hanging around. Everything’s going really well. Today, I had lunch with myself at Tazza and wrote down some ideas. Just like old times. Yesterday, I posted a new song called “On Trial.” I’m putting together artwork for it. I am going to be going back over the whole catalog and re-arranging songs, adding artwork where there is none, changing art that I don’t like, etc. A lot of my concerns have to do with titling–six months later do I like the font I chose? A handful are really great. I’m also going back over the songs for second passes. I’ll draw up a list of things to change, or I’ll realize that there’s something in the vaults that never really made it out to you guys, the listeners. There are a couple finished songs, things that I would really like to see in the podcast that for one reason or another just never made it. Bizarre. The are a bunch of songs from the early part of last year–from before the podcast–that never got a proper internet release. All this clerical stuff and still I’m writing new material. Some stuff got sent out under the name The Vanguard, my theoretical rock band with luminaries such as Eli Castle, Winchester (Jed) Philips, to name a few. Best to all, RK
